IN SITU SUPER UPDATE
Hi!
I feel so pleased to share this diverse, talented group of lovely artisans with you! What began as a side gig evolved into this collective , and continues to grow and grow. New artisans from Oaxaca are joining IN SITU, and a few new artisans/ collectives have already joined our ever-growing family, among them Familia Lazo in Teotitlan del Valle, specializing in naturally dyed wool textiles (and super gorgeous accessories), Huipilito in Hidalgo Yalalag who have graciously offered several of their distinguishably tassel’d huipiles exclusively for IN SITU, Textiles Zacoalpan in the state of Guerrero who are working hard to preserve their ancient Coyuchi cotton and ancestral weaving techniques, and newest of all to the new BIPOC (n. america, for now…) part of the collective is a beautiful Dine artisan, Deer Spring Beads, whose intricately beaded hoops and danglers tell their own stories. The honor and deep gratitude I feel towards each and every artisan who not only is part of the collective, but has chosen to trust me and my vision towards a more inclusive and diverse community/world, is impossible to put into words.
